HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY: ANN-MARGRET

For this new feature, I want to spotlight some of the stunning beauty that was a major part of classic Hollywood. For my first feature I wanted to spotlight Ann Margret. She has been a fixture in Hollywood since the 1960s. Born in 1942, I have had a crush on her since I first saw her in movies. Here are six reasons why I have a crush on her...

  1. Hard to ague with that face and figure. She was and is a stunning beauty.

  2. My best friend and I were cruisin’ way, way back in the day when the subject of good-looking actresses comes up. I immediately chimed in with two of my favorite ‘lookers’, Natalie Wood and Janet Leigh. As for my buddy, well he definitely settled on the lady who graces your post today.

And I thought just the mention of Ann would be the end of it but for some perverted reason he seemed to have become fixated on a strange curiosity regarding her bowel movements and given her beauty, was wondering if her poop actually constituted itself into Butterfinger or BabeRuth candy bars because any other possibility, given her beauty, was just unimaginable to him.

Now, I wish at this point I could just laugh and say, “Gotcha!”, but I can’t because this is unfortunately a very true story! :)

  3. Both my hubby and son have a thing for Ann-Margret. For me, she's always seemed as sweet and lovely a person as she is a timeless beauty.

  4. I have followed the career of actress-entertainer Ann-Margret since the age of (7) when in 1964 I saw her in the film "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis Presley. I have been fortunate enough to see her perform in concert more than 100 times, from Lake Tahoe & Reno, to San Francisco & Las Vegas, from Cincinnati, Ohio to the front row at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. I have a very large collection of career memorabilia on her, from recorded albums, to CD's, videos & DVD's, including her television specials & guest appearances on talk shows through the years. I have many rare items, including a record album she made while still in high school (used for the opening of her biography series "Sugar & Spice" on A&E), to her high school yearbook, college yearbook, scripts from her TV specials, costumes from her film work, A-M on a box of Wheaties cereal to an Ann-Margret themed working telephone. A true highlight for us was when she and her husband, actor & producer Roger Smith, invited my partner, Markcurtis Otani, and myself to their home in Beverly Hills for a visit on October 28, 1998. Her friendship is a treasure in my life. She is just as beautiful inside as she is outside.
