Back in March of 2012, I featured the final pictures of famous stars. I was afraid that the post would be ghouslish and inappropriate, but I received positive feedback and over 300 people looked at the photos, so here are more final pictures of the stars. Some of the pictures are sad - and they just show you that no matter how much money or power you have, you can not stop the passage of time...
You can see the original photo post: HERE.

That is not Marlene Dietrich!
ReplyDeleteI have seen it before. Yes, it is her majesty. Men will seek these out and women will protect them.
DeleteAgreed, I went to the Film Museum in Berlin. I KNOW the Curator, who is a Dietrich Biographer and has written numerous books on Dietrich, THIS is not Marlene Dietrich, sorry ....
DeleteI am pretty sure it is. I have an contact that sent me a couple other pics from Marlene Dietrich at the time - and although she would not let me publish those, she said the one above was okay since it appeared in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteHi, David. Marlene didn't leave her apartment in the few years prior to her death. This photo (and the woman in it) is discussed in Marlene biographies. I don't have any Dietrich biographies on hand to give you a reference, but I think, it's talked about in Steven Bach's book about Marlene, for example. I also discussed this photo at the time of its publication in the tabloids with Hugh Pickett who was a close friend of Marlene's and who lived in Vancouver, BC. Trust me, it's definitely not Marlene!! Great blog you have. Take care, Dave.
DeleteHello
DeleteCould you send me other last pics from her? Or even post them in your blog?
Thank you!
Marlene did leave her appartmenteven in1989-1991 to go out for lunch at the maison d'allemage, rarely but she did. Her last cook just wrote a book...and he said she left in wheelchair and often with a turban. What is wrong with this pic of s 90 year old anyway? SHE STILL LOOKEd GOOD !
DeleteIncorrect! She was Bedridden and her face was EXTREMLY THIN and her chin was very pronounced in later years! This is NOT Dietrich! lol
Deletedas ist Marlene Dietrich, laut ihrer tochter konnte sie nicht mehr laufen und lag nur noch auf ihrem bett meine email: auto-Tuning@t-online.de
ReplyDeleteThis is Marlene's last know picture: http://philosopedia.org/images/3/3f/Dietrich3.jpg
ReplyDeleteThis woman in the wheelchair does not even look like her!
For all the people saying that this woman it's Marlene, they're wrong that woman isn't she!
ReplyDeleteFor my two-cents worth, being an undertaker for nearly forty years, I highly doubt the photograph is of Miss Dietrich; the facial structure/features in the woman photographed do not align, literally or figuratively, with those of Miss Dietrich.
ReplyDeleteDefinitly not Marlene, what was shown above.
ReplyDeleteHere she is:

Very unlikely . I have more pics . You see a care taker(?) pushing this elderly lady her wheel chair in an even more opulent red fox fur coat ! . . .
ReplyDeleteMoe Howard not Mow.
ReplyDeleteCorrected. Thanks for catching my typo!
