I enjoyed every one of her movies that I saw. Even when she played madams or saloon girls, she was never cruel or callous or devoid of conscience. I'm so sorry that her son had to lose his mother at such an early age.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224037410105354251.post-78583155195102859782021-08-17T22:04:57.948-07:002021-08-17T22:04:57.948-07:00My father was her first cousin and would visit her...My father was her first cousin and would visit her in LA. We wanted to use a clip from Champion featuring Kirk and Marilyn. I remember calling Matt Davis on the phone asking if he would sign a waiver allowing us to use the clip. He said he would do anything to keep his mother's memory alive. There is nothing in particular that triggered that memory today; I think of it often and really cherish having been a part of a tribute, however brief, to Matt's mother. If anyone who knows him sees this, please let him know.Cynthia Tuohynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224037410105354251.post-82569411913518645372016-09-19T10:59:10.329-07:002016-09-19T10:59:10.329-07:00Marilyn was my great grandma 1St cousin Blanche Ha...Marilyn was my great grandma 1St cousin Blanche Hardy Malone which makes her my 4 th cousinMomof5https://www.blogger.com/profile/12780424963088953343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224037410105354251.post-84715238635156202392016-09-19T10:56:21.343-07:002016-09-19T10:56:21.343-07:00Marilyn is my 4th cousin 1St cousin to my great gr...Marilyn is my 4th cousin 1St cousin to my great grandma Blanche Hardy MaloneMomof5https://www.blogger.com/profile/12780424963088953343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224037410105354251.post-38563473512222753192015-12-24T13:22:51.398-08:002015-12-24T13:22:51.398-08:00Marilyn was my great aunt. (my grandfather Blair was also born in Clarinda) I heard about her when I was growing up and met her once in Las Vegas where she was appearing in a show at the Desert Inn. She was in the casino one day and I went over and introduced myself as cousin and we had a pleasant conversation. She offered to have my friends and I as her guests at the show. We had already seen it and were leaving shortly-but it was a nice gesture. I have always heard how well-liked she was.
